Karen has always been interested in health and the human body. She began her journey studying pre-med at the University of Virginia. After earning a Master's from Georgetown University in Physiology and Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Karen knew she belonged to the growing field of Holistic Health Care and Integrative Medicine. She completed a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in the DC area doing research on cancer patients using complementary and alternative medicine. This work inspired her to pursue a career in holistic medicine. She completed her studies at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA and earned a Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Karen takes special interest in women's health, autoimmune disease, pain management, and digestive disorders. She is a strong proponent of food as medicine. Karen believes that there is a profound difference between healing the human body and healing the human being.

While in San Diego Karen completed a 100 hour yoga teaching certification in Vinyasa Yoga. When Karen moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2012, she immediately began to immerse herself in the community teaching yoga at various studios. She recently completed her yoga teacher training RYT 200 hours with Yoga Baum in Louisville, KY. Her love of yoga introduced her to aerial silks and circus arts. She is also a Lifestyle Ambassador for Lululemon.
