Karen Alladin Gittli

Owner · Acupuncturist · Herbalist

From the NIH to Louisville: a healer's path.

Karen has always been drawn to the complexity of the human body. She began her journey studying pre-med at the University of Virginia, before earning a Master's degree from Georgetown University in Physiology and Complementary and Alternative Medicine. It was there that she recognized holistic health care as her calling.

She went on to complete a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in the DC area, conducting research on cancer patients using complementary and alternative therapies. That work deepened her commitment to integrative medicine and led her to pursue her Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego.

Karen co-founded Meridian in 2012 with her husband Robert. She specializes in women's health, autoimmune disease, pain management, and digestive disorders, and is a strong proponent of food as medicine. She believes there is a profound difference between healing the human body and healing the human being.

Outside the clinic, Karen is a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200 with Yoga Baum, Louisville) and enjoys performing circus and aerial arts at Louisville's Turners. She is a Lifestyle Ambassador for Lululemon.
